Approach & Strategies

The Organization strongly believes in the true and active participation of all key stakeholders through Community Based Participatory Planning– particularly the local communities or program beneficiaries. Fair efforts are taken to ensure that stakeholders participate and contribute at all the stages of the interventions.

As its strategy, Dobiyan particularly focuses to ensure the maximum participation of women, children and youth wherever required and relevant and particularly if the program has any direct or indirect impacts on their lives.
The overall approach of work also identifies the gender sensitivities and the disabled persons to capture their interest during programme/program design.
The Organization, as its overall implementation approach, takes carefully into account the local culture and traditions and fully respects the same.

Policies & Systems

The operation of the organization is based on set policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in order to make the organization proactive in project management.
The manuals include:
– Human Resources (HR) and Administrative Policies Manual
– Financial Policies Manual
– Procurement and Inventory Manual
– Child Protection Manual
– M&E Systems
– Do No Harm Principle
– Conflict of Interest
– Record retention policy

These manuals contain a number of basic organizational policies and procedures which help in the creation and maintenance of a transparent, accountable and fair working environment in Dobiyan and ensure the effective achievement of overall objectives.

Human Resources

Dobiyan has a Board of Directors and staff strength of Nine (9) including the executive director.
It has a core team relation with various professional backgrounds such as management, finances and HR etc. In addition, it hires professionals on a project need basis, and also engages volunteers.

Review & Monitoring

Monitoring of projects is always important and a priority matter. The processes of review and monitoring help in achieving the project objectives in smooth and timely manner using lessons learned as a mechanism for improvement.

Accounts & Audits

The Organization maintains its accounts on double entry system. The organization has developed various financial policies, systems and formats etc. which help it in effective management of all its funds and maintaining a complete transparency in receipts and payments at all levels. Accounts (receipts and payments) are audited by the recognized chartered accountants’ firms by the end of each financial year.
